I can’t believe I am still doing this! But I am, and I’m enjoying having a ‘thing’ to do every day. Yesterday I mowed my grass and looked at the weeds, today I ignored the weeds again but pruned what may be a lilac tree. I’ll know when it flowers. I’m still reading from Wind […]
This evening I’m continuing the adventures of Mole, Ratty and Toad. Spring is in the air around my house – I mowed the lawn and looked at my weeds today! The sun shone long enough that I did my walk up Rocky Butte and felt so much the better for it. So, here we are […]
Tonight I’m reading from the Wind in the Willows series, another great English set of stories all about Toad, Ratty, Mole and more. They have some adventures and not all of them good! Here we go with the first of four.
I missed a story last night, so here, to make up for it, is Piglet Meets a Heffalump, which I read in two parts. I’m really enjoying Pooh Bear, and Christopher Robin who says things carelessly but with lots of love thrown in.
THIS one you have to listen to all the way through, and then post what happened in the middle!! It’s the second part of yesterday’s book – still on Pooh Bear, this one featuring Piglet…. and possibly Woozles or, maybe not.
I started this little project a week ago…. Beatrix Potter for six nights and today I found I’d had enough. So tonight I’m reading a Pooh bear story, Pooh Bear Goes Visiting to be precise. Mostly because we can’t go visiting, any time soon. But you know what, it’s a sunny afternoon. I’m off to […]
Today was grey, cold, a bit miserable. Taxes are due, and so it was a desk based day going through receipts and finding bits of paper in my various piles in the den. I’m hoping for a sunny spell tomorrow, long enough to do a walk up Rocky Butte and back down… fingers crossed! Anyhow! […]
I spent the weekend in Maupin…. having trailered motorbikes out there, they stayed put. The weather wasn’t quite warm enough and the yard demanded some weeding, thinning and general spring clean up. So the Lavender got trimmed and grasses eviscerated, the fire barrel got filled and then lit and I was a happy pyrotechnic. BUT […]
I thought tonight I’d bring you a story about a kitten, seeing as we’ve had rabbits, hedgehogs and mice. Seemed appropriate. BUT I’m going to warn you, this is pretty much the last story that Beatrix Potter wrote in this series and I think she’d had enough. Its SHORT.
Tonight we have The Tale of Johnny Town-Mouse…. but really it’s about Timmy-Willie who lived in the country. As I’m in Maupin it seemed appropriate, especially as I can see I’ve had my own visitations from Timmy here.
